It was a cold one…

It has been really cold lately and we have had snow…but my daughter and I braved it and ran. We have a race this Saturday and had to get motivated. God bless and keep on running.

Beautiful run…

I had a great run and it felt so good to get back out there and be able to do the full distance. I loved it and I am trying so hard to get back. The problem isn’t that my muscles can’t do it, the problem isn’t that I don’t have endurance, the problem isn’t that I don’t have the cardio strength to do it…the problem is I have been lacking motivation! I think I am getting it back. Keep me in your prayers. God bless and keep on running.

A nice run…

So I left my house planning on doing 3 with my daughter and then another 6 on my own, however, having been 2 weeks since I last run and I wasn’t feeling up to it…so I stuck with just running with my girl. My gps battery was dead so I was guessing at the distance and forgot that I wasn’t good at that! lol Anyway, long story short we went further than we thought…which was good because when I looked at my time I got worried that I was really not well! It was a good run anyway. God bless and keep on running.

I forgot to mention…

I was able to try something new. I found a store that sold the GU Chomps and I tried them on my long run last Friday. They tasted great, nothing like that nasty gel stuff - though I did find rasberry gel by Hammer okay - and the texture was good, not to mention the carbs were higher. However, the one problem I had with them was trying to take the time to eat them while running. It is very hard to maintain your breathing while chewing and swallowing! So I guess it depends on how much you hate the taste of gels! I think I will experiment more with the flavors of the gels - this week I am going to try GU Triberry as suggested by princessRN - and see what I can find. God bless and keep on running!

A good run

I know I am late doing my long run, which was due on Wednesday, but I started my Chaplain’s internship this week and have been working long days! Very tiring…next week should slow down enough that I can get back on schedule. Got out early today so I thought I would squeeze it in…time is not that great, but it still felt good. It was a gorgeous day…

until the sun went down that is. I was in shorts and a heatgear shirt and then the sun went down and it dropped 10 degrees! But that is okay because it was a great run! I needed it too, I was having a bad day, then I ran and it got better! God bless and keep running.

First try of the gels…

So I had my long run today…I went 8 miles, and it felt good. I tried the Hammer Gel Tropical flavor and let me just say, “Ewwwww!!!” That was nasty. I did feel a little bit of a boost from the gel, but I am not certain it was worth the taste. I bought another flavor, Rasberry, to try and if that doesmn’t work either, I am open to suggestions?! Not too bad a day…

I am finally feeling better and was able to go run without coughing and hacking my lungs up…feeling better is nice. I went out and ran an easy 3 miles and loved it. Still a little chilly, but not as bad with no wind. God bless and keep on running!
